Arturia’s new DrumBrute Impact is a fully analogue drum machine in a compact form factor. It sports 10 sound engines, a versatile 8-track sequencer with song mode, output distortion and a new feature called color-shaping. It alters each sound except the cowbell in a unique way: It adds drive to the kick, body to the snare, pitch envelope to the FM sound etc.
The sequencer can hold 64 patterns of up to 64 steps each and allows automation recording of the color parameters, but unfortunately not the tune of the kick drum, as Andrew Huang pointed out. It features separate pattern lengths for polymetric rhythms, individual or global swing, accent per drum, a pattern randomizer and two realtime performance effects (beat repeat and roller).
In addition to the master output, DrumBrute Impact provides individual outs for Kick, Snares, Hats and FM Sound.
