For a decade now, WhoSampled.com has been the internet’s go-to resource to identify samples, covers and remixes. If you’re a Hip Hop head craving to find out where Drake found some of the more obscure samples on Scorpion, or want to know how many tracks sport the infamous Amen break (2900 and counting), WhoSampled has you covered – as long as you know what you’re looking for. The latest update of the WhoSampled app now introduces Shazam-style music introduction, helping you to identify songs (and the samples they contain) on the fly. Want to know the ingredients of that song on the radio? Just hold your phone to the speaker and the app will check WhoSampled’s database for all known samples. The music recognition feature costs 10$ a year on top of the apps price itself and is available for iOS and Android.
